Information for new starters

The Mytholmroyd Scout Group operates within the Policy Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association. The Leaders are unpaid volunteers who give up much of their own time to running and increasingly, being trained to run the various sections of the Group. They cannot effectively do this on their own and for this reason we seek to enlist the help and commitment of parents to devote some of their own time, as well as resources, in helping to run the Group. We accept that some parents may be incapable of providing high levels of commitment and support but, we believe, that all can, and should be able to offer some personal commitment.

The Group is, in all sections, over subscribed, but with the support of parents it enables all sections to provide a wide and varied programme.

We want to make the Group the best it can be and to do this we need your personal support.

This pack has been prepared for all parents to welcome you to the Mytholmroyd Cub Pack. It contains some useful information on the way in which the Pack operates.

The Pack runs for the benefit of the young people but we do need adult support to keep the pack running. Your active support will be needed to help and encourage all the young people in their endeavours within our Pack. There will be times when we as Leaders will need to approach you for extra help. This may be in providing extra transport or with a particular activity.

We believe we are a friendly and approachable bunch of Leaders. If you find you have any concerns over your Beaver joining our Cub Pack or anytime during their time as a Cub, please do ask. The best time for us to be able to talk to you is at the end of any Pack Night.
