Young Leaders Award

As an explorer scout you can start to help out as a young leader with the younger sections.
This help (or service) can count towards the service section for a D of E or Chief Scouts Award. The period of service
varies upon the award that you wish to acheive.
The Young leaders Award is broken down into a number of training modules:

Young leaders requirements for DofE service
Bronze At the end of the appropriate period you need to have
1. Have completed a sustained commitment to the section of choice.
2. Have completed module A and at least two other modules.
3. Have undertaken a project agreed with the section leaders.
Silver At the end of the appropriate period you need to have
1. Have completed a sustained commitment to the section of choice.
2. Have completed module A and at least four other modules.
3. Have undertaken 2 projects agreed with the section leaders.
Gold At the end of the appropriate period you need to have
1. Have completed a sustained commitment to the section of choice.
2. Have completed all modules.
3. Have completed Mission 1.
Notes:
You should attend all section meetings in full uniform unless activity clothing is
recommended by the leaders.
You should understand the background to the section they are working with. This
should include the age range, the award scheme, the relationship between the
section of choice and the other sections that it links with, the uniform, section
law and promise.
You should actively contribute to programme planning, joining leaders for planning meetings.
You should plan, run and evaluate any activities in agreement with the section leaders.
If the length of service is 6mnths or more then you should gain / hold a current first aid award of at least
Emergency Aid level 4
